When the client approached us, he had already had two issues published. The third issue was planned and it had to be of higher level. The new design is a combination of antique and modern slab serif fonts. The color contrast is on the black and white background.
Before
After
We had a long struggle with the client’s desire to leave the Azzarenko logo translucent on the cover but we managed to convince him that the full-color fill looked better.
We added white space to the layout, removed the «congestion» of the text.
Only the most important articles were shown on the cover.
Before (fall-winter 2014)
After (spring-summer 2015)

Let’s try another photo. The current one is not great for the cover. Let’s try other options. The font is out of the way. Work out the font options.
Art director
Let’s try this photo (gives the photo), with the text.
Designer
Is it ok?
Art director
Since the photo is black and white, give a contrastive color to the font part.
Client
I like it. Let’s also make the logo text translucent, I don’t like that it is written on the head. Let’s try in the same style, but another photo. I’ll send you one.
Art director
I’m against the translucent text in the logo. It’s not contemporary.
Client
I like it. I don’t know what to choose.
